You need to adjust some files each time their is an update too, so the Version Number matches the Configuration Key or else the game fails to start.
These fixes are enabled separately from the main mod, so you can play without smooth terrain and only the improved fluid rendering.I've had it a long time now and no problems other than keeping the mods in check with the updates.
